About
✨ Colleen McMahon Skillman – Founder of SingDanceShine
Hi, I’m Colleen McMahon Skillman, and I’ve been dancing since the age of 5 when I began my journey at the Stewart Johnson Dance Academy. That love took me all the way to American Ballet Theater in New York City. I performed at Lincoln Center in productions like Sleeping Beauty and Falstaff with Sarah Caldwell, and danced The Nutcracker with Princeton Ballet at McCarter Theatre.
My professional journey has taken me around the world—from cruise ships with Royal Caribbean to stages in Atlantic City and Las Vegas, including the iconic Follies Bergere. I’ve had the honor of opening for legends like Harry Belafonte, Shirley MacLaine, Donna Summer, and the Manhattan Transfer at the world-famous Monte Carlo Sporting Club.
One of my proudest moments was being chosen out of thousands to be a Minsky Girl in the made-for-TV movie Gypsy starring Bette Midler, with costumes by the incredible Bob Mackie. After years of performing worldwide, I embraced a new and deeply fulfilling chapter – raising my two beautiful children.
Now, I’ve found the deepest fulfillment working with adults on the spectrum. Their joy, authenticity, and brilliance have lit a new fire in me. That’s why I started my business, Sing, Dance, Shine. My goal is to grow this work and bring music and movement to every corner of the world, especially for those who need it most.
