Inclusive Music and Movement for EveryBODY
At SingDanceShine with Colleen, music and movement are more than activities. They are ways to connect, build confidence, create joy, and help people of all ages and abilities feel seen.
Some people dance for performance. Some dance for exercise. Some dance because a familiar song brings back a memory, a smile, or a spark of confidence. At SingDanceShine with Colleen LLC, every session is built around one simple belief: movement should be welcoming, joyful, and accessible to everyBODY.
Founded by Colleen McMahon Skillman, SingDanceShine brings inclusive music and movement programs to elementary schools, assisted living communities, adult programs for people with disabilities, children with disabilities, colleges, corporate wellness events, and more.
A Lifetime of Dance, Performance, and Purpose
Colleen began dancing at the age of 5 at Stewart Johnson Dance Academy. That early love of dance eventually led her to the American Ballet Theater in New York City, performances at Lincoln Center, and productions including Sleeping Beauty, Falstaff, and The Nutcracker with Princeton Ballet at McCarter Theatre.
Her professional journey took her from Royal Caribbean cruise ships to stages in Atlantic City and Las Vegas, including the iconic Follies Bergere. She also had the honor of opening for legendary performers such as Harry Belafonte, Shirley MacLaine, Donna Summer, and The Manhattan Transfer at the world-famous Monte Carlo Sporting Club.
From the Stage to the Community
After years of performing worldwide, Colleen embraced a new and deeply meaningful chapter: raising her two children. She continued performing locally in beloved roles such as Sheila in A Chorus Line and Demeter in Cats, while also becoming a licensed Zumba instructor.
Over time, her passion grew into something even bigger than performance. Colleen began using music and movement as a way to bring people together, especially those who may not always have access to programs designed with their needs, abilities, and comfort in mind.
Programs Designed for Joy, Inclusion, and Connection
SingDanceShine programs can be adapted for many different groups, settings, and ability levels. Whether Colleen is leading a school assembly, a senior movement class, a Zumba session, or a program for adults on the spectrum, the goal is always the same: create a space where everyone can participate, express themselves, and shine.
SingDanceShine programs are perfect for:
- Elementary school assemblies and enrichment programs
- Assisted living and senior movement classes
- Adult programs for adults with disabilities
- Children with disabilities
- Zumba classes for colleges
- Corporate wellness and team-building events
- Weekly or monthly recurring classes
Why Inclusive Movement Matters
Movement can help people feel more energized, more confident, and more connected. Music can unlock memories, encourage expression, and create moments of shared joy. When those two things come together in a welcoming environment, something powerful happens.
For Colleen, working with adults on the spectrum has become one of the most fulfilling parts of her journey. Their joy, authenticity, and brilliance inspired the heart behind SingDanceShine. This work is not about perfect dance steps. It is about participation, expression, laughter, rhythm, and belonging.
The Mission of SingDanceShine
The mission is simple: to bring music and movement to every corner of the world, especially to those who need it most.
SingDanceShine is built for kids, adults, seniors, and people of all abilities. Every program is created with care, positivity, and the belief that everyone deserves a chance to move, sing, dance, and shine.
